| 1. Check in
Staying on a static houseboat means a new experience
for the vast majority of time-sharers.
The accommodation, although similar to that
of a traditional timeshare apartment or lodge…is different!
It is floating on the water!!!
It is sometimes possible for land based resorts
to leave a key hanging outside the office, should you arrive
late.
However, please note that for reasons of health
and safety, this is not possible at Canaltime Houseboat
resorts. It is essential that you arrive promptly
in order to check-in enabling staff to check you in and get
you on board your allocated boat. A boat will bring wonderful
new experiences but it can also bring with it, new dangers.
We have therefore set specific arrival times for guests. Arrival/check-in is on a Thursday only and reception is open from 2pm until 5pm . Please contact us by telephone or e-mail (contact details shown on your confirmation) at least 24 - 48 hours before your designated check-in date to indicate your expected arrival time and the numbers in your party. If you are compelled to leave a voicemail message, please leave a contact number. Please help us to help you. Thank - you very much, it will allow us to provide the levels of service that we would wish
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed at
Reception. You will then be asked to sign our ‘Arrival
Agreement’. click

the company reserves the right, at its own discretion, to
alter any or all of the terms and conditions of the Arrival
Agreement without notice. Please note that a deposit of £300.00
is payable by credit card only. Personal cheques will not
be accepted under any circumstances. The deposit is refundable
subject to the houseboat and its inventory being in the same
condition as you found it.
You will also be asked to pay a utility fee,
currently £97.50 This fee is payable for each week
of occupancy or part thereof and covers the cost of gas, electricity
and a mid week towel change. It can be paid by credit
card, debit card or in cash. Personal cheques will not be
accepted.
Once the formalities have been completed, you will be guided
to your allocated houseboat by a member of the friendly and
knowledgeable Canaltime staff.
2. Health and Safety
Canaltime takes its responsibilities very seriously
indeed in terms of its commitment to guests as well as other
boaters within the marina.
Each of our craft is fully licenced and insured
and has a regulatory Boat Safety Certificate.
Following check-in, you will be taken through
the boat by a Canaltime staff member who will familiarise
you with all aspects of your houseboat.
It is important that you take the utmost of
care when leaving or returning to the houseboat and marina
on a daily basis. Please respect the privacy of other Canaltime
guests and other berth-holders within the marina.
Please also ensure that any small children are
escorted at all times when outside the houseboat and note
that the roof of the boat is NOT a play area.
3. Helpful suggestions to get the best
out of your holiday.
- Do not bring too much luggage. Although there is more
space than a narrowboat, storage is still limited. Folding,
collapsible bags are best.
- Bring a variety of clothes to suit your days and evening
adventures, but try not to bring more than necessary.
- Always consider your fellow guests and others using
the marina, particularly when returning in the evening.
- Please note that walking or sunbathing on the roof of
the boat is prohibited.
- If anybody should fall into the marina, please raise
the alarm immediately and collect one of the buoyancy
aids situated close by. You should take the time to note
their locations upon arrival.
- Always take out personal travel insurance to cover the
duration of your holiday – even if you arriving
from the UK. Many Brits do forget! Don’t let it
happen to you.
4. Member/Guest Arrival Agreement
In order to save time at check-in, would RCI guests please print a copy of the Arrival Agreement. Please read the document carefully and sign.....please do not forget to bring it with you on your holiday! We look forward to seeing you.
